Description

The project is concentrated on developing different competences, and the aim of the project is, for you, to gain and strengthen skills in working with children, and to promote voluntary service as an interesting way of spending free time. You will assist in taking care of children, supporting in this a team composed by young pedagogues. At their turn, they will support you to put your own ideas into practice, and to realize activities proposed by you, on the basis of your cultural experience and national background. You will organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development by games, arts, crafts, music, storytelling, events. You will work 35/38 hours per week, and you will help the kids or youth in their everyday actions, you can organize your own activities with them, do some sport things or help in doing homework.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will receive a pocket money and a food allowance (approx. 270€/month) for your expenses, that you can use to buy the food for yourself and other activities. You will be accommodated in a rented flat with access to kitchen and bathroom. The hosting organization will buy local transportation ticket for the time of you stay so you can reach your working place without any problems. The travel from Italy to Poland and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.

Training during the activity

You will attend three official training sessions: a pre-departure training before leaving Italy; an on-arrival training in a few weeks after your advent in Poland; a midterm training, around the half of the volunteering experience. The activities of the project include any trainings, both related to the tasks and to volunteer’s personal development.

Participant profile

You must be open-minded towards people from different cultures and be open to new experiences in a diverse environment. Also, you must be motivated, enthusiastic and would like to work with kids. Your passions like drawing, painting or playing instruments are welcomed. A previous experience in the field is not required, but you must have a good English.
