ESCVolunteering in Bromma FolkHighSchool in cooperation with Fryshuset

Stiftelsen Fryshuset

Bromma Folk High School

Stockholm, Sweden

Description

Live at a Swedish folk high school for a year as an ESC volunteer, engaging in campus life and being an active part of our courses in various subjects. Tasks include fostering a friendly atmosphere through activities and providing study support. Engage in social action projects and act as a link between volunteers and students. Also, visit local schools to promote volunteering opportunities and learn about folk high schools. As a volunteer, you'll support the school's activities, gain valuable community development experience and help create positive environments for Swedish youth. Folk high schools in the Nordics offer a variety of courses to broaden and deepen people's skills and abilities, and they all focus on lifelong learning. Bromma Folk High School has a broad spectrum of courses, for example, in music and art, but we also train teachers to work in after-school activity programs and people to work in diaconia in the sense of the church’s welfare work.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

All expenses are covered by the European Solidarity Corps program. Accommodation is provided at Bromma Folk High School, with some meals included. Volunteers receive monthly pocket money and have food costs covered, transferred to their bank accounts.

Training during the activity

You will get 2 trainings during your volunteering, once you arrive, the Swedish National Agency will organize on-arrival and mid-term training. Also, there will be an online Swedish course for the volunteers. In addition, we offer our volunteers different courses in personal development, group dynamics, feedback, etc., which are organized by Fryshuset.
