Volunteering in the kindergarten in the Special School Complex no 4

Περιγραφή

We are looking for 1 volunteer who would like to join our long-term project in the kindergarten in the Special School Complex no 4 in Krakow, Poland. This project lasts over 9 months, starting on the 2nd of September 2024. The school has the long tradiotion, because exists 86 years already. The school provides excellent education, revalidation and intelectual development for mentally disabled children. Usually volunteers give the additinal care, such as art classes, gym, individual revalidation, assist during the school trips to the movie, thetare, museums, amusement parks, school festivities, educational projects, they will help to prepare integrational presentations and competitions. They will aslo participate in the meetings with parents. In the kindergarten there is a space for volunteers own ideas to create activities suitable for children with mental disabilities with the suport of the coordinator and teachers. https://ib-polska.pl/aktualnosci/esc-2024/

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

All volunteers are placed in the flats rent for the purpose by coordinating organisation Internationaler Bund Polska. There is up to 4 people in one flat. Rooms are single or double.There is alway shared bathroom and kitchen in each flat. Flats are placed usualy in the neighbourhood of the hosting organisations, not in the city center, but we provide monthly cards for local trasportation to all. Volunteers get travel costs back when they arrive to the project. Every month we transfer pocket money and food allowance to bank account open in Poland or Revolut.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

There are meetings with candidates before they are accepted to the project. Sending organisation should prepare volunteer t the project beforehe/she leaves the country. During the project IB Polska provides regular monthly meetings for volunteers and individual meetings with each person. There are also two obligatory trainings provided by the Polish National Agency if the activity lasts at least 6 months.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

We are looking for candidates who would like to work with very young children with mental disabilities and are ready to give them their time. For sure you need to be patient and ready to built relationships with children, which takes some time in the beginning. Candidates nedds to be open, friendly, warm, creative and emphatetic. And ready to learn Polish to comunnicate with children. It would be nice to have additional abilities, for example vocal, manual, musical or sport. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old, because it's the main rule of the European Solidarity Corps programme
