Volunteering in the primary school in Scpecial School Complex no4

Περιγραφή

We are looking for 2 volunteers who would like to join our long-term project in the Special School Complex no 4 in Krakow, Poland. This time volunteers will be involved in tasks in the primary school. This project lasts over 9 months, starting on the 2nd of September 2024. The school provides excellent education, revalidation and intelectual development for mentally disabled children. Usually volunteers give additinal care, such as art classes, gym, individual revalidation, assist during the school trips to the movie, theatre, museums, amusement parks, school festivities, educational projects, they will help to prepare integrational presentations and competitions. They are a part of the school community onvolved in every event and meeting - they will aslo participate in the meetings with parents.There is a lot of space for volunteer's own ideas for activities for children and teachers and coordinator support him/her on it. It's open, friendly and warm place for self-development.

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

All volunteers are placed in the flats rented by coordinating organisation Internationaler Bund Polska. There is up to 4 people in one flat. Rooms are single or double. There is alwasy shared bathroom and kitchen in each flat. Flats are placed usualy in the neighbourhood of the hosting organisations, not in the city center, but we provide monthly cards for all volunteers, which helps to get to the work and to participate in other activities. Volunteers get travel costs back when they arrive to the project. Every month we transfer pocket money and food allowance to volunteers' bank account.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

There is always a meeting with coordinator of the project from IB Polska before volunteers get accepted to the project. Sending organisation should provide preparatoty meeting before volunteer leave the counrty. During the project IB Polska organizes monthly meetings with the whole group of volunteers and individual meetings with each person separately. There are also two obligatory trainings for volunteers provided by Polish National Agency if the volunteer's activity lasts more thatn 6 months.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

We are looking for candidates between 18 and 30 years old. It would be good to have gender balance, so one boy and one girl would be perfect. Cancidates have to be firendly, open, creative, warm, empathetic and ready to learn Polish to communicate with children, Additional skills like singing, playing instruments, interest in sport, manual are welcome. You need to also be patient. There is a space for volunteer's own ideas for activities for children and each volunteer prepares something.
