The volunteer will be based in Guatemala and will travel within the country. They will report to the Médicos del Mundo Country Coordination and will form part of the MdM Guatemala team. The tasks of the volunteer will be: - Monitor project indicators and verification sources, preparing the reports specified for each project and informing the coordination teams of compliance or risks of non-compliance. - Participate in the adjustment or redefinition of indicators for the areas of work in the country. - Propose specific improvements to project monitoring and tracking systems and tools to the coordination teams, taking into account the organisation’s capacities and resources. - Strengthen the capacities of the national MdM team and its partners in data recording and analysis tools. - Support the management of MdM’s accountability and complaints mechanisms in the country/region.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Living conditions in Guatemala are comfortable. All basic services and recreational facilities are easily accessible. The volunteer will be accommodated in one of the office houses of MdM or its counterparts and will receive a monthly allowance to cover his/her food expenses of 791EUR. Accommodation; return flights; visa and vaccination costs; health insurance; and basic equipment (laptop and mobile phone) will be provided and covered during deployment. Transportation and accommodation will also be provided and covered for all work-related travel.
Formação durante a atividade
Volunteers will improve their knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online training on security and cross-cutting issues before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support and host organisations.
Perfil do participante
- A university degree in Social Sciences or other disciplines relevant to the role. - Studies in International Cooperation, Development and/or Humanitarian Action. - Experience or additional training in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. - Knowledge of the Latin American context, particularly countries in the Mesoamerican region. - Experience in the field of international cooperation. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data management tools and digital platforms. - Writing skills. - Communication skills. - Spanish essential / English highly desirable. - Ability to work in a team. - Ability to adapt to different contexts. - Self-care and stress management. - Availability and flexibility to carry out activities. Competence in communication and social media. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
