Cultures and Heritage through Museum Education - CULTMUSE - (VT1) is a team activity, part of the project developed by the National History Museum of Romania through the European Solidarity Corps program. The project consists in three main activities: VT1, a 4-week team volunteering activity (20 volunteers - 10 EU citizens/residents +10 Romanian) that takes place at the headquarters of the museum in Bucharest, Romania; VT2, a 4-week team volunteering activity (20 volunteers - 10 EU citizens/residents +10 Romanian) that takes place in Vețel commune, Hunedoara county, where the museum has under its supervision an archaeological site dating to the Roman era, and VS, representing 10 individual volunteering stages of 6 months for 10 volunteers (5 EU citizens/residents +5 Romanian). This section refers to the six-month individual volunteering stages (10).
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation: the volunteers will share a room with 2 or 3 fellow volunteers in a room found in a private student complex. Local Transport: The organization will provide monthly passes for public transportation. International Transport: The volunteers will be given 100% the travel cost to and from Bucharest in accordance with Erasmus+ calculator. Food allowance: Each volunteer will receive 7 EUR/day for each day of the activity as food allowance and 4 EUR/day as pocket money.
Training during the activity
1. Training on protection and safety; 2. Training on non-formal education techniques and tools; 3. Training on digital marketing/promotion in a museum context; 4. Training on NHMR heritage and activities.
Participant profile
Basic qualifications: age between 18-30 years old, knowledge of the English language (mandatory), citizen or resident of a country member of the European Union, interested and motivated in developing their social and professional skills,have completed general education level and want to develop your abilities concerning education through cultural projects - you are patient, responsible, creative and you are passionate about how cultures develop and evolve, you are enthusiastic about history, you are open-minded about working with a team with varied interests and from different cultures.
