Description

MdM has been developing and implementing health programmes in Dakar since 2003. The volunteer will be under the direct supervision of the National Coordinator. The tasks will be: - Support the administration team in the administration and management of finances (budget, accounting, reporting, audit and administration procedures, etc.) in accordance with MdM's policies and procedures; - Strengthen the skills of the support team and all aspects of HR; - Support the planning and supervision of the implementation of financial and administrative policies in the missions; - Contribute to the development of the administration department's procedures; - Strengthen the skills of national partners in budget monitoring; - S/he may be required to carry out other tasks at the request of the country coordinator and in the interests of the organisation. - Supporting the development of data collection sheets for local partners.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The work will take place at the MdM office in the capital Dakar. The volunteer will then be accommodated in the organisation's guesthouse. There will be a 24/h receptionist for emergencies and any necessary movements to ensure the volunteer's well being. Dakar is a quiet city with several beaches & a rich cultural life to relax in. The general atmosphere in Dakar is good. However, it is recommended to be careful when travelling, especially at night, and to avoid certain places outside the city centre. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diem of 568€ to cover their food and other expenses.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psycho-social support and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online trainings before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support and host organisations.

Participant profile

- University degree in economics/administration/accounting/HR; Master's degree in development cooperation or similar; Experience in managing the administration and/or finances of private and/or public organisations, HR management; Knowledge of funding instruments and donor guidelines and project cycle management; Experience/training in strategy definition, project formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and capitalisation; Knowledge of basic administrative and financial procedures, auditing or internal control, computer skills; Fluent French, Good level of Spanish and English.
