Progetto Giovani, the office of the Municipality of Padua offering services and initiatives in favour of the local youth, is looking for 2 volunteers interested in the social and educational field. They will realise activities with youngsters and local high schools such as linguistic and cultural interactive workshops using non-formal education methods, language-learning activities (e.g. tandem meetings), promotion of ESC and Progetto Giovani’s activities in high schools, informative events for local youngsters. Other possible activities are back-office activities like the research of opportunities for youth in the EU within the sectors of education, training and volunteering, creation of materials for the promotion and dissemination of the ESC programme (text, audio, video, podcast), organisational support for language and cultural events and workshops (in-person or online). They will also develop a personal project for the local youth based on their interests and skills.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Volunteers will be hosted in a flat rented by the Municipality of Padova and located in the city centre of Padova. Volunteers will have their own bedroom and will share the common spaces (kitchen, bathroom) with other ESC volunteers. Please note that one of the rooms is smaller than the others and that there is no living room. Monthly bus-tram tickets will be provided by the office, together with a bike, which is the most advisable way to move around the city. Pocket money and food allowance will be transferred to the bank account of the volunteers at the beginning of each month.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Volunteers will participate in two trainings organised by the National Agency: the on arrival training and the mid-term evaluation. The supporting/sending organisations will take care of the pre-departure training and the final evaluation of the experience. A series of specific mentoring sessions and trainings will be scheduled by Progetto Giovani to train and support the volunteers during the project and for the completion of the Youthpass.
Teilnehmerprofil
Volunteers shall be willing to work with teenagers and local youth and have a positive attitude towards interpersonal relationships. They shall be proactive, motivated, have good organisational skills and responsibility towards the work schedule and tasks. They shall also be adaptable and flexible, and available to move around the city to reach different schools. It is advisable to have interest and/or experience within European mobility opportunities and possess digital skills. An intermediate knowledge of Italian language, or predisposition to learn the language, is highly recommended.
