Food has an irreplaceable value, when availability and enjoyment are not accessible to all, food becomes an element of social inequality. Eufemia, aware of the importance of this issue, created a strong Food area that develops inclusive projects to spread new practices of well-being, through local and European projects. Eufemia is looking for 2 volunteers then can join the food area for 12 months, to be engaged in a valuable path that has food as social and engagement instrument at its core. Main activities in which the volunteers will be engaged: Collection of unsold products in local market, that will be used in some activities and distributed to beneficiaries; Participating and helping in cooking labs with different target groups, from children to adult people; Helping in school workshops on food, combating waste, sustainable lifestyle; Communication and graphic activities to promote the activities. Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Food, accomodation, health insurance and pocket money are provided by European Solidarity Corps Program. You will be accommodated in the volunteers' house, where you will be sharing a bedroom. Main facilities are provided (fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, wifi). Bus tickets and bicycles will be made available for the volunteers.
Formação durante a atividade
Deepen their knowledge of Italian gastronomy and traditional and innovative preservation techniques, for the promotion of a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle; understand the fundamentals of local political dynamics and power in relation to food needs governance; identify emerging paradoxes regarding food waste and food needs; learn about the dynamics of participatory action research in designing and implementing actions for change; co-design, co-lead, and co-evaluate educational workshops for children; co-design, co-lead, and co-evaluate socio-educational workshops for adults.
Perfil do participante
Associazione Eufemia is looking for 2 young people ready and willing to bring new energy and ideas in the association, curiosity and personal experience into the activities. In particular, we are looking for people passionate about food and social issues, interested in learning more about Italian gastronomy and sustainable lifestyle practices. In addition, we’d like to find people interested in project design and with strong communication and graphic skills, open-minded and eager to learn from the experience.
