Opis
The Pavillons-sous-bois Public Library is a public service. The main axis is cultural mediation. The objective is to develop reading among all audiences by developing as many bridges as possible. The focus is on advancing accessibility. Solidarity is a strong value that underpins the entire project. The volunteer will be in charge of developing a project centered around welcoming a multicultural project, sometimes not speaking french, it also will consist in : - Informing the public about the Library and the ESC dispositive - Take part in the cultural activities and partnerships organized by the Library (ex : animation of creative or scientific workshops ; multilingual readings to children ; transmiting songs…) - Creating tools : Translating the subscription forms, a video presenting the library in different languages… - Assist the librarians with their daily tasks They will have the opportunity to submit their own ideas ; in order to make the most of their skil and désires.
Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport
The volunteer lives in a shared house with 5 other volunteers in a large house with a garden located in the commune of Villemomble in Seine-Saint-Denis. Each person has a private room and shares 3 bathrooms & toilets, a kitchen, living room, terrace, garden... The house is equipped with wifi, TV, barbecue. 45 min by public transport or walking to reach the library. The city of Paris is accessible by train in about 45 min depending on the destination. The monthly subscription for the entire regional network is covered. The monthly allowance is 422 euros per month for food and pocket money.
Szkolenie w trakcie działania
The first two days will be dedicated to a two-day training to best support the integration into the local life and the host structure. Weekly participation in socio-linguistic workshops in French is offered if the person needs and wants to. Occasional training courses on subjects related to the socio-cultural field can be offered throughout the year. In addition, two seminars are organised by the French agency ERASMUS+.
Profil uczestnika
We are looking for a volunteer who is open-minded, creative, helpful and engaged. The volunteer should enjoy working with children (1-12-years-old) and love sharing reading. The volunteer must be comfortable with digital tools, communication in general with people while doing service public. The volunteer will work 3 days at the library (wednesday, friday & saturday, from 9 a.m to 6p.m. ) and will have 2 half days for french classes. A basic level of French and English will make the experience easier for the volunteer and is necessary for this application. As the volunteer will live in a house with others, he/she needs to be social and a teamplayer.
