Volunteers will work with the local community in one branch of the City Public Library in Gdynia, which is a hive of activity and a great place for the local community to meet, learn new things and have the use of many facilities. Library is a place full of books - but for sure it is not boring! As it may be the only cultural centre in some districts, Public Libraries offer more than just books. They propose children’s programs, workshops and many interesting events for local communities in various ways. And for this purpose they need the support of volunteers, to make their offer more valuable and interesting. We search for 3 volunteers to work in 3 different branches. Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Volunteer will be provided with the pocket money and alowance for food, accommodation in a room with a maximum number of 3 inhabitants in one of the rented flats and monthly ticket for buses in Gdynia.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Volunteer is obliged to attend On-arrival Training and Mid-term Training organized by National Agency as well as trainings provided by the supporting organization.
Teilnehmerprofil
We are looking for a volunteer who will be communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive. It is welcome if the volunteer has basic English language skills and is willing to study Polish. The volunteer should be interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and willing to co-operate and work in group. S/he should be open-minded. We are searching for young people, who would contribute to the actions taken by the library and would like to develop his/her personality.
