Antigóna is a nonprofit organization focused on three main axes: international solidarity, social informatics, to allow people with less computer skills and mastery of Italian language to carry out administrative procedures online, and youth mobility in Europe as sending and hosting organization as part of ESC. The project will take place in the headquarters of the organization, very close to the Bologna city center. As a volunteer, your main tasks will be to enjoy being part of a nonprofit organization, dealing with various aspects of its activities and learning how to manage them. You will help in drawing up and developing projects and initiatives related to both European Union programs and other contexts, as well as take care of communication aspects, including social media. The working time is around 33 hours per week. But schedule may change depending on several factors, including visit missions to our volunteers in Europe (costs are covered by the organisation).
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
You will be accommodated in a double room, shared with other volunteers or students whenever possible, in apartment or residence with internet access and kitchen facility. Additionally, you will receive a monthly allowance of 180 € as food money and 180 € as pocket money. If necessary, you will be provided with a pass for local bus. The travel from the place of origin to Bologna and back is fully reimbursed. An insurance company will protect you from any risk.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
You'll attend 2 or 3 official training sessions: a pre-departure one before leaving your country, an on arrival one a few weeks after your advent in Italy, and a third one at around half of your volunteering if you do more than 6 months of volunteering. During your experience, you will be trained about media communication, project management and back-office operational tasks under just-in-time approach, all aspects that will be useful for your professional future. You'll be provided with Italian language classes.
Teilnehmerprofil
As an ideal volunteer, you should have strong motivation for joining structured projects concerning social matters, as well as for back-office tasks: for this, you must bring your own computer equipped with Microsoft Office suite. You need to be very flexible because the tasks assigned are diverse and can change rapidly according to the projects' dynamics. You should also be willing to travel without expecting complete comfort. You're the perfect candidate if you write very well in English and have some basic knowledge of Italian (A2 level if possible).
