8 MONTHS ESC PROJECT IN ITALY INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY

This long term ESC project is selecting 7 volunteers: 3 for "Città Solidale" hosting organization: work with people with psychic disabilities hosted in live-in communities and daily centers. 2 for "Tangram" hosting organization: work with under aged girls hosted in a live-in community, work with adults with social and psychic disadvantages and youth inclusion projects. 2 for "Insieme" hosting organization: work with disadvantaged people (people with light mental disabilities or coming from difficult backgrounds, i.e. addiction, detention, refugees, etc.) involved in educational/rehabilitation job programmes, in the different activities the cooperative propose them: bar/kitchen, second hand shops, bike repairing laboratory, raising awareness and promotion of topics like circular economy, environmental education with youth). The project take place in Vicenza (Italy) from November 2024 to Settember 2025. The availability of candidates should be for the whole project period.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Volunteers will be hosted in two independent apartments placed in Vicenza city and well served by public transports. The 4 of Insieme and Tangram will live together in one apartment (2 shared bedroom taking care to separate males and females), the 3 of Città solidale in the other one. Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance of 150€ to be used for the personal shopping, in addition to the EU pocket money of 6€ per day. International travel is covered by EU funds according to the distance band (180€ up to 499 km; 275€ from 500 to 1999 km). Volunteers will receive a bike and bus tickets.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
- On arrival training (1 week) - Mid term evaluation (4 days) - Italian language course at school (3 hours per week) - Training about social and environmental topics -Training about being european volunteer - Training about third sector in Italy and what being a cooperative means.
Teilnehmerprofil
Motivation to spend 10 months in a foreign country working with disadvantaged target groups. We'll prefer volunteers with high motivation to discover the social work run by the hosting organizations, with the mind open to take care about the tasks the social work implies (spend time with beneficiaries, do practical activities with them, etc.) and with the will to adapt to the new environment. Previous experience (also of volunteering) in the social topics addressed by the project is welcome. Basics of Italian or at least of English are needed. In case of Tangram driving license is required.
