We are looking for one person ready to volunteer in the Autism Centre in Krakow between the 1st of February and the 27th of June 2025. The tasks will be to support young people with autism specctrum, sometimes also disabilities, in their everyday routine: to help to focus during lessons, to go to the swimming pool together and help with simple excersises there, to support teachers during trips in the city, visiting museums as well as supporting students during ceramic and art classes, encouraging them to learn foreign languages and develope their intercultural skills. The plan for volunteer will be created also according to the experience and readiness of learning new things. Volunteer will also help to clean the common spaces together with students and teachers. Will be invited to participate in trainings, internal meetings, trips. Additionally the part of the activity will be participating in workshops and meetings prepared by Foundation IB Polska.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Volunteer will join other volunteers already hosted in the project. The lat is located in Wola Justowska and at the moment we have 4 volunteers there. There are double rooms with single beds (for girl) or bunk bed (room for male volunteers). The flat is very well connected with the public transport and in the area where you may run or walk a lot. All volunteers are getting pocket money and food allowance which is 250€ per month. We also provide monthly card for the public transport in Krakow. Each volunteer gets the travel costs back while the project.
Formação durante a atividade
Each volunteer has to have sending organisation from the country he/she lives in. The organisation is responsible for preparing the volunteer to the project accordingly to the rules of ESC Programme and to stay in touch while the activity. Autism Centre organises internal trainings about communication and methods of work for workers and volunteers. Foundation IB Polska organises monthly meetings with the whole group of volunteers based on the Polish culture and history, language, intercultural learning and self-development. There ia also an on -arrival training offered by National Agency.
Perfil do participante
We are looking for candidates ready to work with children and teenagers in autism spectrum. Because of the specific of the work, it would be good to know what the autism spectrum is, how cjildren or teenagers could probably behave. Experience in work with autistic children or teenagers is welcome. Communicative English would be enough as well as creativity, emphaty and patience.
