Founded in 1985, Diapason Cooperative is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the lives of minors and their families facing social or economic challenges. Our mission is built on values of solidarity, tolerance, and mutual understanding. As an ESC volunteer, you’ll work alongside experienced educators, psychologists, and coordinators, gaining valuable insights into social work. You’ll support minors aged 12–18 who have been temporarily removed from their families, helping them rebuild trust and stability. This experience will enhance your teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills while fostering meaningful connections. You’ll live within the community shelter, fully immersing yourself in its environment. Please note that for the safety and well-being of all, a curfew is in place at 22:00.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
As a volunteer, you’ll stay in a shared flat within the same building as the community shelter. You'll have your own private room and bathroom. The living room and eat-in kitchen will be shared with community residents, offering a chance to connect and immerse yourself in daily life. To ensure your comfort, the hosting organization provides three meals a day. You’ll also receive €6 per day as pocket money (paid monthly). Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to European Commission guidelines.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Volunteer will participate in the On Arrival Training organized by the Italian National Agency. Also, the coordinating organization No Borders, will organize training with the volunteer.
Teilnehmerprofil
We’re seeking a dedicated ESC volunteer available for the entire project duration (ASAP – August 2025). ✅ Motivated to learn Italian and communicate effectively. ✅ Ready to work with minors (12–18 years old) from diverse Italian and international backgrounds. ✅ Educational background in socio-pedagogy, psycho-pedagogy, social work, or related fields is a plus. ✅ Empathetic, open-minded, and passionate about working with young people who have faced challenging pasts. ✅ Patient, kind, tolerant, and a great listener, with strong teamwork skills. ✅ Good English required; basic Italian is a plus. ✅ Willing to live in a community setting, respecting curfew and shelter rules.
