Description

The Solidarity Gardens project aims to empower communities in rural areas by establishing sustainable green spaces that serve both environmental and social functions. The project will be focusing on the creation and maintenance of community gardens. It will be held in Betanzos, Spain, lasting a total of 56 days, including travel days, from March 5th to April 29th, 2025. The project will host 20 participants, aged 18 to 30, from four different countries: Spain, Morocco, Türkiye, and Portugal. It is specifically designed to address the negative consequences of deforestation, climate change, and rural depopulation.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will be living a house, situated on a hill overlooking Betanzos. The house offers comfortable accommodations for volunteers, featuring shared double or triple rooms that foster interaction among volunteers from various countries. The house features a shared kitchen, shared bathrooms, two living rooms equipped with TVs, and ample outdoor space. The host organization will cover travel and food costs.

Training during the activity

The volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the host organisation team regarding to the activities and mobility. The volunteers have the right and obligation to attend following the pre-departure training.
