Ecology and community in the mountains of Romania
Stichting UcDean
Posaga de Jos, Rumänien
Beschreibung
Learn about sustainability and permaculture in a small village deep in the mountains of Transylvania, Romania. The goal of Dupa Gard is to create a peaceful retreat, helping people reconnect with nature and themselves. By volunteering at Dupa Gard, young people learn about sustainability and permaculture, growing food and healthy living – they learn by helping us at the farm and by getting involved in the local life. Our main aim right now is to bring the community closer together. We want to create “third spaces”, where the locals could meet and build a community spirit, which is now largely missing. Another main objective is to show sustainable approaches for life, which will help them implement appropriate improvements in their daily life (eg. composting, saving energy and water, reducing household waste, growing their own food). Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Accommodation will be provided at the estate of our organization. The participants will be accommodated in either tiny houses, or a (once it’s ready) renovated cob barn. All of these accommodation spaces have access to our campsite outdoor facilities (shower, compost toilet, kitchen, recreational corners). You will receive food allowance and pocket money according to ESC guidelines. Plus you can eat vegetables fresh from the land! Transport to nearby / regional towns is provided by public transport (bus). For activities such as the market days, you will join the team in their car.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
