Friends of the Earth Malta (FoEM) is looking for a Community Garden Volunteer as part of our campaigns team. You will be working in collaboration with the FoE Malta team and will be line managed by the Head of Campaigns and Director. The Garden volunteer will be working within a small team and will support the creation of a community garden in an urban area. The main work will take place in our office in Floriana, but it will be expected from the volunteers to join monthly garden activities in our old bakery in Comino. This is an excellent opportunity for the volunteers to learn more about Comino and to take part in one of the first self-sustainable projects to restore an old bakery in the country. ***** Please apply through our website: http://foemalta.org/get-involved/vacancies/ *****

Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed as part of the ESC programme. The European Solidarity Corps programme will provide you: Accommodation in a shared flat close to our offices in Floriana Coverage of all living costs such as electricity, water, gas, and internet Reimbursement of the flight and other transport to/from Malta, up to a certain limit Monthly allowance Private Henner insurance In case of disabilities, funding is available for support (e.g. interpreters)

The FoEM campaigns encompasses various projects and campaigns which require support with their events and outreach activities. The volunteer will be involved in the FoEM campaign teams and will be able to grow their interest and expertise in the field. Perfil do participante
ou will be responsible for achieving the goals set for the duration of ideally up to 1 year as part of our team, together with other staff members and volunteers. Due to the nature of our office environment, being dynamic and having a diverse set of skills is essential. Duties will include: Upkeep of the garden Planning the community garden project Helping in the organisation of educational activities Coordinating with a group of volunteers to implement the project Technical support to create the crop garden Facilitation in the production of toolkits Creating space for community integration and involvement Desirable Qualities & Skills: Knowledge of local flora and fauna Experienced in event organisation and hosting educational activities Be organised and meticulous with a high degree of commitment Be flexible and can work on own initiative Ability to work in collaborative decision-making processes and have excellent people and communication skills Have experience working in the environmental field and especially have an understanding of agriculture both from a rural or a policy perspective with an interest and knowledge in food sovereignty Qualifications: The candidate should preferably have a degree level of education.
