Description
In our cosy old villa we look after 77 children from the age of 1 until they start school in 2 nursery and 5 kindergarten groups. We want all children to feel comfortable and accepted. In our daily work, we give the children a playful approach to the world, encourage creativity, imagination, self-confidence and independence as well as social skills. We encourage the children to develop confidence in their own abilities, to explore the world and to gain experience and take developmental steps according to their pace of development. It is important for us to involve the children in shaping the day-to-day life of the day care centre and to encourage democratic decision-making processes. Individual adaption, trusting cooperation with parents, observation and development documentation as well as individual school preparation in cooperation with the primary school are a self-evident part of our work.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We provide you with a furnished room in a small shared apartment with a shared kitchen and bathroom. You will receive your lunch at the kindergarten, for the other meals you will receive a financial allowance. You will also receive a financial amount with which you can buy a ticket for the tram in Leipzig. Optionally and if you want, we provide you with a bicycle.
Training during the activity
In addition to the National Agency seminars, there is an educational seminar day once a month with your tutor and other volunteers. Here, we exchange information about your work and everyday life and combine this with excursions, educational content or experiential educational activities. In addition, you will receive a language course based on your individual language level.
Participant profile
When you come to us at the daycare center, you will support the educators in their work. You help with the care and accompaniment of the children, help with the nursing tasks and over the time you take on more and more responsibility. You will be part of a team of educators and plan the day / week / kindergarten year with them. You can also take part in projects with the children and contribute your ideas. If you enjoy singing and making music, or even play an instrument yourself, you are in the right place with us. It would be fine if you bring with you a basic knowledge of the german. And you should bring the following with you: - Motivation - A desire to learn and gain new experiences - Interest in other people - Empathy - Intercultural skills - Openness towards other socialisation backgrounds and world views - Desire to exchange ideas and develop your own personality
