Csodaműhely Association’s programs aim to empower the disadvantaged Roma community in Csobánka by providing educational and personal development opportunities from early childhood to adulthood. Their after-school program supports children aged 6-18 in school and personal growth, with over 100 students regularly participating since 2012. As a volunteer, you’ll join a team of 10 international volunteers to create an engaging summer camp for children. Beyond teaching English, you’ll lead games, sports, and cultural exchange activities, including gastronomy, music, crafts, and traditional games or dances. Your role is to inspire and support the kids, helping them build confidence, trust, and joy. Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
All volunteers will be accommodated in shared two-bed rooms in Budapest, requiring a daily commute to Csobánka, which takes approximately one hour each way. We will provide a public transport pass to cover the commute. We provide two meals a day (cold breakfast and hot meals for lunch), with a vegetarian option available. Each volunteer will also receive €7 per day as pocket money and 5 EUR per day food allowance to cover the dinner. Travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the distance after participation. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.
Formação durante a atividade
From Friday till Sunday an orientation training (movement, sports and games and facilitation skills) will be provided by an experienced Egyesek staff member. This will be followed by mentoring sessions to support the learning and professional development of you. In the institution school staff will provide further support if required. Perfil do participante
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who are empathetic, patient, and have experience or interest in teaching children and teenagers. Strong communication skills are essential—even nonverbal communication—along with the ability to connect easily with different age groups. This camp is especially ideal for those who have worked with children before or are looking to gain experience in this field.
