This ESC project invites two motivated volunteers to support educational and cultural activities at Santa María de los Ángeles, a secondary school in Málaga, Spain. The school aims to bring European diversity into its classrooms, making volunteers role models for students. Volunteers activities: Assisting in English and,if possible,French classes.Conducting non formal language lessons.Organizing cultural events and promote European values.Supporting environmental and sustainability projects. Helping with Erasmus+ projects. Managing school social media and website updates. Collaborating closely with the Departamento de Actividades Culturales y Extraescolares to help organize cultural events and activities. Schedule: 25 hours/week, mostly mornings, with occasional afternoon or weekend activities. Fixed holidays follow the school calendar. Travel: Costs reimbursed up to ESC Distance. Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Volunteers will share rented flats. They will be provided with standard equipment and essential household goods and electricity, water, gas will be covered by the hosting organization. Internet is not provided. In-country volunteers can book their own housing and receive €250/month for food. A €300 refundable deposit is required if flat rules are followed. Those with fewer opportunities may have different conditions. Volunteers get €180/month for food and €150/month pocket money. Local transport is provided for distances over 3 km from home to project place (Bike or bus card).
Formação durante a atividade
Volunteers will receive on-arrival and mid-term training with the Spanish National Agency, during which they are not required to attend their volunteer placement. Online Language Support (OLS) helps improve language skills for volunteering tasks and offers unlimited courses in various languages. Accessible via EU login, OLS can be used before departure. If OLS doesn’t cover the required language or level, the host organization may provide additional formal or informal lessons based on needs, project tasks, and available resources.
Perfil do participante
We would like to host a volunteer who: Is able to communicate well in english (knowledge of spanish would be an asset!). Is open to motivated individuals interested in education and cultural exchange. NO prior teaching experience required, but teamwork and communication skills are valued. Open-minded attitude. Is responsable, trustworthy and punctual. Willingness to learn.
