We are hosting a volunteering team to help out with various projects and events in our local community. As a part of our volunteering team, you'll lend a hand in activities connected with sustainability in and around Litija. The aim of the project is to bring international solidarity to our local community, with ecological or social goals - your work will be to provide help to local organisations, initiatives and farms, and in doing so, to enrich the social lives and environmental work of the local people. Your activities will include...helping in the maintenance and daily works at our partner organisation; building fences, gardening, maintaining infrastructure; lending a hand on a nearby educational farm with cleaning their greenhouses and barns; joining team actions on our community garden; helping out on our events related to sustainable food and music; cooking for yourselves and your teammates in an outdoor kitchen. Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Accommodation will be provided on the sustainable farm land of Raznolikost, in the form of wild camping. This means that the accommodation is very basic and designed with sustainability in mind - you will sleep in tents and use outdoor solar showers. It is perfect for people who wish to have an experience of living close to nature and a digital detox. Charging stations and wifi are available. Food will be simple and will prepared by the team yourselves, on rotation - each day 3 team members will stay home to prepare food for the group. There is local public transport to the site on weekdays.
Formação durante a atividade
You will learn about sustainable farming practices, permaculture gardening, woodwork and general skills for living close to nature. Your learning journey will be guided through using active, non-formal eduational methods.
Perfil do participante
18-30 years old; very motivated; interested in ecology, nature, sustainability; excited to wild camp and live sustainably; comfortable with living in minimalistic accommodation; good at working in teams; open to people from other cultures and countries; conversational level of English.
