Descripción

Fundación VASE (Voluntariado para la Ayuda Social del Ecuador) is a non-profit organization established in 2008 and accredited by the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion. VASE is dedicated to strengthening intercultural relations and inspiring global citizenship. Operating as a bridge for social development, VASE manages over 30 projects nationwide. This specific mission supports "Alas de Colibrí," a specialized center in northern Quito dedicated to the protection of girls aged 12 to 17 who have survived domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. The project provides critical psychological, legal, and educational interventions to help these young women regain autonomy and redefine their future perspectives.

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

To ensure a secure environment and facilitate local integration, the volunteer will reside with a host family. This living arrangement provides essential cultural immersion and a supportive domestic base while the volunteer engages in the demanding work of the mission. The project site is located in Carcelén Bajo, a neighborhood in North Quito.

Perfil del participante

Due to the sensitive nature of the shelter and the vulnerability of the residents, this mission is open strictly to female volunteers aged 18 or older. Candidates must demonstrate high maturity and a strong sense of initiative. While a minimum of B2 Spanish and English is required for effective coordination, a technical background in Psychology, Social Management, or Sociology is highly preferred. The volunteer must be prepared to support psychologists and social workers in daily tasks, including educational accompaniment, workshop facilitation (crafts, gastronomy, sports), and legal support follow-ups. We seek a professional who understands the structural complexities of women’s rights and is committed to the disciplined, daily effort required to support survivors of abuse.
