The House of Europe would like to host 2 volunteers for a project of 11 months in Nîmes, a Roman city in the south of France. The aim of the project is to help young people from the region discover opportunities abroad by organizing Erasmus+ internships in Europe, in order to develop participants’ independence, self-confidence and language skills. The volunteers will be working with our project managers on the following main tasks: Recruitment of participants - Preparing and co-leading preparatory English sessions - Assisting in workshops on topics like interculturality, conflict management, EU citizenship - Supporting participants during their internships - Administrative tasks before, during, and after the projects. The House of Europe also works with the local community, informing about current events, projects, and opportunities related to the EU. Furthermore, the volunteers will have the opportunity to be part of the team managing our website and social medias and events.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
The volunteers will be hosted in single bedrooms in shared flats. The volunteers will occasionally have the chance to travel to different cities for their project, and in that case the House of Europe will organize the transport. The volunteers will receive a daily allowance of 8€ in pocket money and 10€ for food. A return trip for the project will be covered with a grant, depending on the distance. The volunteers will work up to 32 hours per week from Mon-Fri, 9 am to 5 pm, with Friday afternoons off.
Formação durante a atividade
The volunteers will have the opportunity to attend the on-arrival training and the mid-term evaluation organized by the French National Agency. Furthermore, there will be several possibilities to take part in other trainings during the year according to the offers and the interest of the volunteers. The volunteers can also participate in French classes, adapted to their individual level of French, held every week at the House of Europe.
Perfil do participante
We expect the volunteers to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for Europe, mobility and interculturality with the public. Candidates should have a good level of English and a basic French knowledge will be a plus. The motivation of the candidate, their capacity to evoke enthusiasm during the workshops, especially for young people, and the understanding of the pedagogy of non-formal education will be important criteria. They will have to be flexible, communicative and able to adapt according to specific situations and different types of audiences.
