ESC VOLUNTEERING in a Community for unaccompanied foreign minors - Oblò

Associazione Il Ce.Sto Onlus has been involved since 1987 in the promotion of integration and social promotion processes among the different ethnicities living in the historical center of Genoa, with particular attention towards minors, second-generation migrants, and other actors in the neighborhood. The social unit of collective hospitality for Unaccompanied Foreign Minors “l'Oblò" was born from the need to ensure unaccompanied foreign minors the most appropriate existential and educational conditions to achieve the satisfaction of their needs for care, support, protection and accompaniment. L'Oblò is a residential structure organized to accommodate a number of guests (not exceeding 15 minors) from 13 to 18 years old from Gambia, Tunisia, Palestine, Egypt, Albania. Volunteer's activities: - Accompanying to medical appointments; -Accompanying to get legal documents; - Grocery shopping and meal preparation; -Workshops, study help, games, sports and recreational activitie

Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης

The volunteer will live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. 6 euros per day of pocket money and food or a food allowance will be provided. The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission.

Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα

The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency (On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation). In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive specific training in the Hosting Organization related to the target group they will work with.

Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος

REQUIRED AGE 27-30 YO. The ideal volunteer should stay at least 6 months in our project; Have high flexibility and adaptability to new situations, open-minded and cheerful personality; Prepared to take up a delicate role in contact with young people that often come from complex situations. Much patience required to get in touch with young people; Tolerance, firmness, creativity; A basic knowledge of Italian is required. At least the first two months are quiet months of observation, mutual acquaintance, communication and discovery.
