BirdLife Malta is looking for a creative and motivated volunteer with IT skills to support our Conservation Department in a range of exciting digital transformation projects. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in technology while contributing directly to vital research and conservation efforts. This role combines IT and nature conservation, supporting initiatives such as: • Setting up live bird-webcam streams • Enhancing and maintaining existing digital platforms, such as bird ringing and sighting databases • Creating innovative tools, from live bird-tracking websites to bird rehabilitation workflow assistants • Using intelligent scanning and digitisation tools to transform paper archives into accessible online datasets You will also have the chance to join fieldwork activities, experiencing first-hand how data is gathered and seeing the real-world impact of your work.

• Accommodation close to our offices in Ta’ Xbiex or in the northern part of the island close to our nature reserves • Coverage of utilities such as electricity, water, gas, and internet • Reimbursement of the flight and other transport costs (bus, train, metro) to/from Malta, limited according to distance • €380 monthly allowance • Private HEALTH insurance provided by Henner

• Aged 18-30 • A citizen of one of the programme or partner countries • Interested in developing skills and experience towards a future career in IT • Passionate about nature, wildlife and conservation • Excited about applying technology to real-world environmental challenges and conservation projects • Willing to learn with an adaptable approach in line with the needs of a charitable organisation’s structure, including working flexible and occasional long hours
