The TEAMS activities at the ecovillage will include 1. participating in local and social organic farming activities in the vegetable gardens, greenhouses, olive groves, fruit orchards, based on permaculture & organic farming principles and concepts; 2. helping with maintenance of the surrounding landscape, foot trails, dry stone walls and water canals, in partnership with the Torri village, the local administration and local hiking associations 3. helping with maintenance of the medieval building, alleys and courtyards, and surrounding areas, based on conservation principles that were adopted and applied by the Cultural Association 4. participating in solidarity actions for refugees and asylum seekers in the town of Ventimiglia, in cooperation with Caritas, We World and other NGOs, and in clean-up actions in partnership with the local PlasticFree Onlus chapter. The volunteer will also have the chance to propose practical workshops to share his/her abilities.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
8 volunteers will live at the Ecovillage in guest rooms with private or shared bathrooms.All bedrooms are heated and fully furnished (bed linen, blankets and towels are provided).Laundry facilities are available in the ecovillage.All meals are prepared by the cooperative and available in the dining area at fixed times. All guest and residents also have access to a several areas with open wifi, to a large meeting room, and to a yoga room. About transportation, most of residents have their own cars and regularly drive to and from town of Ventimiglia. Local bus travels to/from town 5 times a day.
Teilnehmerprofil
The profile of the ideal TEAM volunteer should include most of the following features: a deep interest in ecology and sustainability-related topics; willingness to share a part of his/her daily life with the resident community and guests, and enjoying some private moments as well; mental openness to meet new situations and people; flexible approach to work regarding tasks and times, than can change also on a short notice; willingness to learn basic Italian to communicate with non- English speakers. Above all, we value a high level of motivation to try experience living and sharing time with the local residents, and an ongoing commitment to reach the different goals.
