In Honduras, MdM has worked with various UN agencies, including UNICEF, UNFPA, UNHCR and other donors from the Centralised and Decentralised Spanish Cooperation. In addition, MdM forms part of the humanitarian architecture present in the country, the Spanish NGO Coordination Committee, and has diverse and multidisciplinary teams. The volunteer will assist in the technical/financial monitoring of assigned projects/programmes by supporting the formulation, implementation, reports and justifications, reporting to key actors (country coordination, field coordinators, project/programme coordinators and other actors/donors) based on their initial formulation, the strategic documents of MdM and in accordance with the bases and regulations for the justification of each grant in order to obtain clear and concise information on the life of the project/programme and the results and objectives achieved.

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

Volunteer headquarters will be in Tegucigalpa and s/he will travel to the department of Cortes where we have an MdM office to support the teams working on different projects. The volunteer will be accommodated in one of the houses of MdM and will receive a monthly allowance to cover his/her food expenses of 700 €. Accommodation; return flights; visa and vaccination costs; health insurance; and basic equipment (laptop & mobile phone) will be provided and covered during deployment. Transportation and accommodation will also be provided and covered for all work-related travel.

Formação durante a atividade

This exclusive experience aims to provide volunteers with learning opportunities on several levels. On a professional level, volunteers will have the opportunity to join an experienced team, which will allow them to learn about how organisations work, the cycle of humanitarian aid and development projects, teamwork and interpersonal communication, and to incorporate gender, human rights and anthropological approaches into their expertise. It will be an experience for professional growth in technical management functions at each stage of the project cycle.

Perfil do participante

• Bachelor's degree; training in health projects will be valued. • Very good knowledge of the Spanish language. • Knowledge of financing instruments and donor guidelines and project cycle management. • Experience or additional training in strategy definition, project/programme identification and formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and capitalisation. • Knowledge of gender, human rights and the environment. Training in public health is highly desirable. • Experience in the field of international cooperation will be valued. • Contextual knowledge (Honduras) will be valued. - Working skills in multicultural environments. - Strategic vision, leadership, teamwork, collaboration and stress resistance. - Technical/financial management, monitoring, evaluation and planning of projects/programmes. - Working towards objectives/goals. - Office Suite (Word, Excel and Internet). - Communication and social media skills. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
