Insel-Haus der Jugend is a day -car center for 5 to 15 years old children and teenagers. It provides lunch, helps with the homework under academic supervision, leisure time activities in the field of sport, creativity/art, culture and fun. At the organization various, little or big projects, such as holiday camps are also organized. The Island Campus is a spacious area with garden, lots of green, hills and central island. The day care center has 10 rooms for all kinds of activities for children. Special areas are the trampoline, a skate park, swimming pool , two big gardens with old trees, hills and playing corners. We also have a story telling rail coach , a pottery, a pizza oven, a street ball ground, Zen garden, playground, beach volley court, football ground, willow Tipis , as well as conference room and seminar rooms in the main house. The Island means day care in a familiar surrounding but we also offer holiday program.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
A local standard accommodation is provided. The volunteer receives 3 dishes pro days. For weekends and bank holidays he/she receives monthly food money. Local transport is provided by the hosting organization in form of tickets for public transport.
Teilnehmerprofil
The volunteer should be patient and creative and you should like working with children. Openness and the will to talk to people, ( even if you are shy and you don´t know the language yet). Bring a certain feeling of responsibility concerning taking care of someone. The volunteer will help in the organization for about 30 hours a week .
