Train of Hope Dortmund is Looking for Short-Term Volunteers Starting in January 2026

Train of Hope Dortmund e.V,

Dortmund, Deutschland

Beschreibung

Train of Hope Dortmund is a non-profit organization based in Dortmund, Germany. We provide support and integration opportunities for refugees and migrants through various social, educational, and cultural activities. Our work is driven by solidarity, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves equal access to opportunities and community life. Volunteers will gain valuable experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds, develop intercultural communication skills, and learn about the realities of migration and integration work in Germany. The project also offers opportunities to take initiative, propose ideas, and implement small personal projects within the organization.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared flat in Dortmund, located about 7 minutes walking distance from the organization. Each volunteer will have their own private room, and a maximum of three volunteers will share the apartment. The flat is fully equipped and located within easy reach of public transport. Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance of 420 €, which includes both food allowance and pocket money. Additionally, a Deutschland Ticket will be provided for local and regional transportation.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

Volunteers are encouraged to create and implement their own ideas or mini-projects within the organization, with the support of the team. They can also take part in all the events and trainings organized by Train of Hope Dortmund, such as language courses, computer courses, and other community activities that promote learning and inclusion.

Teilnehmerprofil

We are looking for motivated volunteers aged 18–30 who are open-minded, respectful, and interested in working with people from different cultural backgrounds. Volunteers should have a good command of English. Since the daily working language at Train of Hope Dortmund is German, having a good command of German is a strong advantage. Volunteers should be ready to take part in a variety of tasks, including supporting daily office work, assisting coordinators during workshops and events, and creating content for social media. They may also contribute to community activities such as language or computer courses and other social projects. Previous experience in similar fields is appreciated but not required. We welcome volunteers who are empathetic, flexible, and eager to contribute to inclusion and solidarity within our community.
