We are looking for vets and vet nurses who will work for our stray cats and dogs in Sinop, Turkiye for a short term (2 months). Working locations: Sinop shelters, Gerze shelter, wildlife center, the village where our cats and dogs are and the volunteers' house where there are the ones which need long treatments. In the shelters and in the wildlife center, the volunteers will assist the employed vets and the staff with their work such as treatment, surgery, check-ups, hygiene and keeping the record of the stages of the treatment. Feeding the orphans (hand rearing), sick and elderly will be the tasks of the volunteer. In the village, the volunteers will feed, clean and check-up the animals, and take the dogs for a walk. Going to rescue operations and city tours to feed stray animals are among the tasks of the volunteers. Volunteers will work in shifts so that each volunteer will go to every location every week. Two days off in a week.

The travel costs will be reimbursed according to the program guidelines. The volunteers will live in a furnished flat. Short term volunteers might share their rooms. The shelter car will pick the volunteers and bring them back for the Sinop shelters. For the Gerze shelter and the village, volunteers will take the bus. We pay the bus cost monthly. For the wildlife center, the volunteers will go to the main office in the city center and their car will take them to the center and back. The volunteers will get 360 Euros for food and pocket money per month.

The volunteer will learn the following: - The first aid for cats and dogs - Cat and dog sterilization (male and female) - Diagnosis and treatment in internal medicine - Traumatic surgery and amputation - Post-op care - Distemper, Panleukopenia and Parvoviral Enteritis treatment - Nursing the orphans (hand rearing)- Daily check-up of the patients and babies - Cooking especially for the babies and the patients and feeding them.

We are looking for a vet, vet student, vet nurse or vet nurse student. Volunteers should be passionate with their work and eager to develop their competences. Also able to live and work with other volunteers from diverse nationalities.
