Description
Širvintos Youth Center is looking for a motivated female volunteer to join a 6-month ( or 10 months) European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project. As a volunteer, you will work closely with young people aged 14–20, supporting and organizing creative activities, workshops, discussions, hiking trips, camps, and youth events. You will also take part in mobile youth work, contribute to cultural and environmental initiatives, and assist with social media content creation. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own ideas and actively shape activities through non-formal education methods. This project promotes solidarity, active citizenship, intercultural learning, and personal development. It’s a space where your creativity, initiative, and motivation are valued, and where you can grow both personally and professionally while making a real impact in the local community.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteer will live in a shared flat with another volunteer. The apartment includes a shared kitchen, bathroom, and other common facilities. The flat is located in Širvintos town center, just a few minutes’ walk from the Youth Center and activity locations, making daily participation easy and convenient.
Training during the activity
On arrival training, mid-term training by Lithuanian NA, Lithuanian language online classes (OLS system).
Participant profile
The project is looking for a motivated volunteer who is interested in working with young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. The ideal participant is open-minded, respectful, and tolerant towards different cultures, lifestyles, opinions, and behaviors. The volunteer should feel comfortable communicating and expressing themselves in front of groups of young people, as well as leading or co-facilitating activities, workshops, and events. Confidence in sharing ideas and engaging participants actively is highly appreciated. We are looking for a communicative, proactive, and creative person with a positive attitude towards teamwork, solidarity, and non-formal learning. Curiosity, flexibility, and willingness to learn new skills are considered important qualities. The volunteer is encouraged to take initiative, contribute personal ideas, and actively participate in the development of youth activities and community events. Previous experience in youth work is welcome but not required — motivation, openness, and willingness to engage are the most important aspects.
