GARDENING AND NATURAL BUILDING IN THE COMMUNITY
Stowarzyszenie Osada Możliwości
Prosinko 28, Poland
Description
Volunteers will learn a lot through practice about gardening, land regeneration, natural building and living in a community. You will experience what it means to care for the land and each other. In addition to many practical skills, you will have the opportunity to deepen your connection with yourself and world around you. Volunteers will participate in gardening work, preparation of nettle manure and inventory of wild plants. You will also be involved in the further construction of our community house using natural building methods. In June we plan to take care of partition walls. Living in a community also means sharing daily responsibilities such as cooking and cleaning. Various group practices and social group time will serve as a way of building community and deepening a sense of belonging. We invite you to the enriching experience of working on the land with the community. This project will engage a group of ten young adults over a two-week period.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We practice voluntary simplicity. You will live in shared glamping tents equipped with mattresses. You can bring your own tent. Ecological dry outdoor toilets with hot outdoor showers are shared with other residents. We provide three vegan/vegetarian meals a day and access to the pantry and garden crops. We try to eat nutritious and local food. Our farm is located far from towns, with pastures around and close to the forest. There is a bus service to the nearest town, Czaplinek.
Participant profile
We are looking for volunteers who are interested in community life on the land. Young people looking for their place in society, who are curious about life and are concerned about our troubled world. We are looking for people that are pragmatic and that want to do things with their hands and learn how to use hand tools. The living conditions are simple, but you will live close to the nature in early summer with like-minded peers. Experience is not required, but willingness and enthusiasm to try new things and to learn is.
