Description
The mobility project will take place from April 21 to May 6, 2026, involving 15 volunteers from Portugal, Poland, Spain and Ukraine over a total of 16 days, plus 2 travel days. During this period, the group will participate in the Parachute Activity on April 25, commemorating the Carnation Revolution (Revolução dos Cravos). Volunteers will play a crucial role in organizing and facilitating this event, engaging actively before, during, and after the activity. Additionally, they will support the Festa das Cruzes Festival, scheduled from April 28 to May 3, 2025, which aims to foster intercultural connections between locals and volunteers. The festival program is designed to cater to diverse tastes, featuring a vibrant mix of cultural, recreational, and ethnographic activities that celebrate both popular traditions and community spirit.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will be accommodated in a private house located in the heart of Barcelos, featuring one to three shared rooms. They will have access to all house facilities, including a fridge, washing machine, furniture, bed linens, and cutlery, ensuring a comfortable and safe stay. The host organization will cover travel and food costs.
Training during the activity
The volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the host organisation team regarding to the activities and mobility. The volunteers have the right and obligation to attend following the pre-departure training.
