Description
Efem Akdeniz Youth Association is a non-profit organization working for the development and active participation of children and young people from all backgrounds. The association organizes educational, cultural, and social activities that support personal growth, creativity, and social inclusion. As a cultural NGO, it promotes Turkish folklore, particularly Turkish Folk Music and Folk Dance, while helping young members gain awareness of national and cultural values, as well as citizenship rights and responsibilities. Efem offers various training courses and workshops to strengthen members’ creative and productive skills and to encourage them to become more confident and socially engaged individuals. Recognizing language learning as a key to new opportunities, the organization provides English, Spanish, and Turkish courses. Efem continues its work in cooperation with national and international partners to broaden young people’s horizons.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
In Antalya’s Konyaaltı district, you will live in a house near the beach together with another ESC volunteer. The house includes a shared kitchen and living room, bathroom, your own single bedroom, and a garden. It is fully equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, internet, TV, computer, washing machine, printer, and tea and coffee maker. The accommodation is within walking or cycling distance of your workplace and well connected by public transport. Your commute will take no more than 20 minutes. The house is also very close to a local street market where fresh fruits and vegetables
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer will improve their Turkish language skills while becoming familiar with Turkish Folk Music and learning basic bağlama playing. They will conduct English speaking club activities in three municipal kindergartens using games, drama, music, and interactive methods. The volunteer will also explore Antalya’s biodiversity, endemic plant conservation efforts, and local cuisine, and will collaborate with university student clubs, youth centers, and youth NGOs.Continuous mentorsupport from yourcoordinating organisation,Efem Akdeniz Youth Association, before andduring your stay,
Profil du participant
The volunteer should have a good command of English (minimum B1–B2 level) to communicate confidently in an international environment and to support activities with children. They should enjoy working with children and be patient and humble. The volunteer is expected to design and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as games, music, drama, storytelling, and interactive workshops that encourage children to practice simple English in a fun way. Motivation to learn Turkish, Turkish Folk Music, and basic bağlama playing is important. Basic technology and digital skills, ability to ride a bicycle, creativity, positive energy, and a strong sense of responsibility are required. The volunteer should also be willing to actively cooperate and engage with local young people.
