The Festival of Friendship is a cross-border cultural event between Spain and Portugal, now in its third edition. It promotes intercultural dialogue, community participation and European values through a programme including talks, traditional games and participatory activities. Each year, a guest country joins the event, and this year we welcome Italy. Volunteers will support the organisation and logistics of the festival, including coordination tasks, helping with meals, preparing camping areas, and setting up event spaces. The activity will last 14 days, involving both preparation and implementation phases. Participants will gain experience in teamwork, event management and intercultural exchange.
Διαμονή, διατροφή και έξοδα μετακίνησης
The volunteers will sleep in a typical village house. The house has 2 floors. Downstairs there is the kitchen and dining room. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with 2 bunk beds and the other bedroom with a bunk bed. There is also a full bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the village restaurant. The restaurant is the soul of the project. Besides serving meals, it is the social centre of the area. Public transport only runs once a day. But we have a car. Once a week we will all go to the biggest village and there we can buy everything we need. You have bicycles.
Κατάρτιση κατά τη δραστηριότητα
Participants will take part in a non-formal learning process based on practical experience and teamwork. They will develop skills in event organisation, logistics and problem-solving while contributing to the festival. Volunteers will strengthen communication and intercultural competences through collaboration in an international environment. They will also gain experience in community engagement and increase awareness of European values such as solidarity, inclusion and cultural diversity.
Προφίλ συμμετέχοντος
We are looking for motivated and open-minded participants interested in teamwork, intercultural exchange and community-based activities. Due to the local context, participants must have a good level of Spanish, as the local community and most participants do not speak English. No previous experience is required, but a proactive attitude, flexibility and willingness to support practical tasks (logistics, meals, camping areas, event set-up) are essential. Interest in rural environments, cultural activities and cross-border cooperation will be highly valued.
