Since 2003, MdM has focused on the accessibility and quality of the healthcare system, the fight against gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health, with an approach based on human rights, particularly with regard to women and vulnerable populations. The volunteer will be based in Dakar and will report directly to the country coordination team. The volunteer will support project/programme management in the areas of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), assigned throughout their cycles, by providing support in the formulation of new projects, the implementation of ongoing projects, the preparation of narrative reports and project justifications within the MEAL framework, and by reporting to key stakeholders (country coordination, project/programme coordination and health coordination). They will be responsible for contributing to data analysis with a view to designing new projects.

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

The work will take place at the MdM Dakar office, with some travel to Kedougou. The volunteer will be accommodated in the organisation's guest house. A driver will be available at all times for emergencies and any necessary movements to ensure the volunteer's well-being. The volunteer will receive a monthly per diem of 568€ to cover their food and other expenses. MdM will pay for the return plane ticket from the country of origin to the place of work, vaccinations, visas, etc. required before departure, and expenses during the training in Madrid before deployment in the field.

- Acquire know-how and interpersonal skills in a different cultural context and with different communities. - Improve volunteers' knowledge of health problems in vulnerable contexts and intervention strategies. - Understand the importance of community intervention in public health projects. - Enrich themselves both professionally and personally through exchanges with the local MDM team. - Exercise responsibilities, evaluating and asserting your skills. Volunteers will improve their knowledge through trainings in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, human rights.

Perfil do participante

EDUCATION A master’s degree (or equivalent) in social sciences, health and/or politics, or a related field. Training in international cooperation, development and/or humanitarian action. Knowledge of donor guidelines and project cycle management, as well as Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning. EXPERIENCE Experience or additional training in strategy definition, formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and project capitalisation. Training in public health or gender would be an advantage. Experience in the field of international cooperation. Contextual knowledge (Senegal and the Sahel) is an asset. SKILLS Project management, monitoring and evaluation, planning, Teamwork and ability to work under pressure. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and the Internet). Dynamism, perseverance, adaptability. Good command of IT tools and Microsoft Office. Ability to work in a multicultural team. Good understanding of and interest in project themes: sexual and reproductive health, gender, gender-based violence. Availability and flexibility to carry out activities. Communication skills and proficiency in using social media. LANGUAGES French essential. Good level of English and Spanish desirable. Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
