Merhamet Sandžak is a Muslim humanitarian organization based in Novi Pazar, Serbia, providing social and humanitarian support to vulnerable individuals and families in the Sandžak region. The Social Program Assistant will support the planning and implementation of social inclusion initiatives for vulnerable individuals and families. The role combines direct program support, community outreach, and educational activities to strengthen the organization's social interventions and promote long-term empowerment. // RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in project planning, proposal writing, and partnership building within the Social Program department; Plan and facilitate educational activities for at-risk youth and families; Conduct outreach to identify vulnerable groups and encourage participation in available services; Represent the organization at trainings, seminars, and workshops; Provide humanitarian and administrative support.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

All the costs associated with volunteering will be covered by the grant. The volunteer will be provided a round flight ticket and a lockable and safe apartment, with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the city center near the office premises. In addition, the volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 500 EUR to cover other daily expenses such as meals and communication.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

The volunteer will attend a pre-departure training to prepare for the opportunity, as well as an on-arrival training which will introduce the participants to the host country. Along with Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training, Merhamet can provide training on the Project Cycle Management to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to participate in other Merhamet’s capacity-building activities.

Teilnehmerprofil

We are looking for a motivated and socially conscious individual with a background or strong interest in social work, community development, humanitarian action, or a related field. The ideal candidate is empathetic, proactive, and committed to promoting inclusion and well-being for vulnerable groups such as at-risk youth and families. Experience in project planning, proposal writing, or community outreach is an advantage. The volunteer should be comfortable facilitating educational activities, engaging with diverse community members, and contributing to both programmatic and administrative tasks in a cross-cultural environment.
