Are you looking for a meaningful way to engage in peacebuilding, intercultural exchange and youth work? Join us at Um-Welthaus in Aalen (South Germany), an educational space where people from different backgrounds come together to learn, share, and act for a more peaceful world. We bring young people into real-life experiences of nonviolent conflict transformation, global learning, and community engagement. As a volunteer, you will support our activities and become part of a learning community that explores how we live together across differences. You will be involved in: - Co-organising peace education workshops, trainings, and events - Supporting intercultural activities such as excursions, festivals, and youth encounters -Working with diverse groups, including children, young people, and people with refugee backgrounds - Contributing to creative non-formal learning formats - Supporting communication and visibility of our work - Bringing in your own ideas and initiatives

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

We will support you in finding suitable accommodation in Aalen. There are several housing options available in and around the city, and we will assist you throughout the process to make sure you find a place that works well for you. You will receive: - Monthly pocket money and food allowance (according to European Solidarity Corps guidelines) - Reimbursement of travel costs based on distance bands - Coverage of local transport related to project activities

Formação durante a atividade

You will be supported throughout your journey, both professionally and personally: 👉 Pre-departure preparation (if coming from abroad) 👉 On-arrival training and orientation 👉 An assigned mentor who will accompany you throughout your volunteering journey 👉 Regular reflection meetings to support your learning and development 👉 Ongoing support from the Um-Welthaus team We also create spaces for exchange: Regular meetings with other volunteers (both incoming and outgoing), where you can share experiences, reflect on your living and working situations, and learn from each other.

Perfil do participante

We are looking for young people (18–30) who are: 🤝 Curious, open-minded, and motivated to learn 🤝 Interested in social, intercultural, and educational work 🤝 Willing to engage with diverse communities You don’t need prior experience; what matters is your willingness to participate and contribute. We especially encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds. Languages ⭐️ A good working knowledge of both English and German is highly important for this project ⭐️ Ideally, you feel comfortable communicating in both languages (around B1–B2 level or higher) ⭐️ Our activities often take place in both English and German, and being able to follow and contribute in both languages will help you participate fully In some cases, applicants with strong English but limited German may still be considered. However, please note that this can make participation in certain activities more challenging. Additional languages such as Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Arabic, or French are a strong asset, as we work with diverse communities.
