REACT: Roma Equality through Advocacy, Civic Engagement and Transformation
Institute of Support and Studies on Entrepreneur hip, Social Development and Cohesion Cube Non-Profit Organisation
Thessaloniki, Greece
Description
REACT is a European Solidarity Corps volunteering opportunity dedicated to promoting Roma inclusion, combating discrimination and fostering human rights. Volunteers will contribute to research, awareness-raising campaigns, community outreach activities and the development of policy recommendations addressing the challenges faced by Roma communities across Europe. Working alongside civil society organizations, activists, and human rights supporters, participants will support the collection of good practices and engage in advocacy initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness of anti-Gypsyism and social exclusion, aiming to develop policy recommendations. The project encourages intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, and solidarity while empowering young people to become agents of social change. Through non-formal learning and practical experience, volunteers will strengthen their skills in human rights advocacy, research, communication and policy development.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is fully covered by the hosting organization for the volunteering period. Volunteers will receive food allowance and pocket money via bank transfer. The pocket money is provided according to the ESC regulations applicable in Greece (currently EUR 7 per day). Participants are responsible for purchasing their travel tickets to and from the project location before their arrival. Upon successful completion of the activity, travel costs will be reimbursed by the organization in accordance with the ESC funding rules, after the submission of all required travel documents.
