The Šilainiai Public Library, part of the Kaunas Municipal Vincas Kudirka Public Library, is much more than a place for books – it is a vibrant community hub in one of Kaunas' largest neighborhoods.
As an international volunteer, you will join our Children's Space, where you'll help create fun and engaging experiences for young readers through educational activities, creative workshops, games, and events.
Your tasks may include:
Organizing educational and creative activities for children and young people.
Supporting library staff with daily library tasks and archival activities.
Bringing fresh ideas and international perspectives to the library community.
Sharing your language and culture through informal foreign language activities and intercultural events.
If you enjoy working with children, love creativity, and want to make libraries more exciting and inclusive, this opportunity is for you!
Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport
What we offer: 🏠 A private room in a shared flat with other international volunteers. 🚌 A public transport card for local travel. 💶 Monthly food and pocket money (approximately 250 EUR). 🍎 Additional support with food products, if needed.
Szkolenie w trakcie działania
*Monthly meetings with other volunteers. * Monthly meetings with your mentor for guidance and support. * On-arrival and mid-term training provided by the programme. * Online language learning opportunities. * Participation in public solidarity events and community initiatives. * Involvement in organizing information and promotional events about solidarity and volunteering.
Profil uczestnika
We are looking for a participant with a passion for books and reading, and an interest in working with children and young people. We also value volunteers who bring their ideas and initiatives!
