Beschreibung

The Volunteer, under the supervision of his/her Line Manager will support local communities and their families with technical training on family farming and agroecological production, prioritizing women active participation. He/she will also support and coordinate with CDRO Health Team to strengthen the health strategy at community level. He/she will support the development of didactic material, facilitate agroecological workshops with farmers and community producers, research in nutrition, and support in community health diagnoses.

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

The volunteer will live in a comfortable house in the central area of Totonicapán, with access to shops, markets, transportation (minibuses), pharmacies and services. Accommodation costs, electricity, water and internet service will be paid for by the organization. The volunteer will have a single room with working area. The apartment, with kitchen and common areas, is located on the second floor of a building and the owners live downstairs. The house is located 15 minutes away from CDRO office that can be reached by minibus or taxi.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

The Volunteer will attend an induction prior to her/his deployment. CDRO will be responsible for the Volunteer’s induction upon arrival which will include the introduction to CDRO team, objectives, programs and projects. The Volunteer will also be introduced to the communities he/she will be working with. Training during deployment will be offered to improve the volunteer’s skills and competences.

Teilnehmerprofil

You have a degree or experience of community health, properties and use of native plants, experience or knowledge in anthropometry for children, experience or knowledge in health and nutrition of children and women. You have ability in adult education methodologies and in the development of teaching and support materials, can work in team and rural communities, and have an aptitude for volunteering, together with a sense of responsibility and organization. You have a fair knowledge of Spanish.
