Beschreibung
Babel e.V. is a non-profit organisation in Berlin-Marzahn that promotes intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and equal opportunities. We work with children, young people, women and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. As an ESC volunteer, you will support our daily activities, including youth club programmes, creative workshops, language cafés for women, cultural events, educational activities and community projects. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own ideas and organise activities based on your interests and skills. No previous experience is required. We are looking for motivated, open-minded and responsible young people who enjoy working in an intercultural environment and want to contribute to our local community while gaining valuable personal and professional experience.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Volunteers will live in shared accommodation and shared kitchen and bathroom. Rent and utility costs are fully covered by the project. Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance and pocket money according to European Solidarity Corps regulations. A public transport ticket for Berlin is provided. We also support volunteers with administrative procedures and settling into life in Germany.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Volunteers receive an introduction to Babel e.V., their tasks and the local community. A mentor provides continuous support throughout the project. Volunteers participate in regular team meetings, language learning through the Online Language Support (OLS), and the mandatory On-Arrival and Mid-Term Training organised by the German National Agency. Additional workshops are offered according to volunteers' interests and learning goals.
Teilnehmerprofil
We are looking for creative, active, open-minded and motivated young people aged 18–30 who are interested in intercultural learning and community work. We value creativity, teamwork, responsibility and a willingness to learn. Volunteers are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and actively participate in our projects. No previous experience is required. Basic English is sufficient, and German is not necessary. It is an advantage if you can play a musical instrument, but it is not required.
