Get involved in a non formal education organisation- YOUTH

i-PEICC peuple et culture

Montpellier, França

Descrição

Main part of the volunteering will be dedicated to work with youth leaders of the organization and organize activities with the youth hosted by the organization on their daily life: after school and during the holidays: those aged ‘11–15’ and ‘16–25’ from a priority neighbourhood. Volunteers will be involved in supervising and leading educational and recreational activities decided upon together. The role also includes supporting pupils at risk of dropping out of school, as well as delivering sessions in secondary schools. Another part of the volunteering will be dedicated to organize street workshops on topics decided jointly, aimed at local residents. An extra part of the volunteering will be dedicated to promotion of European volunteering programmes, sharing their experience and culture. Finally, the volunteer will have to participate in local solidarity projects where he/she will be living in and in community events organised by i.PEICC in the Mosson district.

Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte

A single bedroom in a shared flat, 10 minutes walk from the organization. The district called “Mosson” or “Paillade” is really interesting for its multiculturalism, dynamism and solidarity actions led by inhabitants and organisations. Average income, employment rates and social diversity are low; there could be trash in the streets and the district can give a feeling of insecurity. A welcoming neighbourhood that the city considers it as a high priority area benefiting from urban regeneration where efforts are being made to improve the living conditions: housing, social diversity and employment

Formação durante a atividade

The volunteer will be participating in the on-arrival and mid-term trainings organised by the National Agency, if possible. He/She will be registered on the on-line linguistic support proposed to all European Solidarity Corps volunteers. He/She will be in regular contact with his/her mentor in the hosting organisation and with his/her mentor in the sending organisation. A welcoming time, trainings and support to help him/her in his/her integration and activities will be organised.
