Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) is a national movement of non-formal education whose activities aim to bring together people from different cultural and social backgrounds, contribute to local social, ecological and cultural development, and promote solidarity, inclusion and collective living.
At Citrus, volunteers become part of a welcoming centre hosting more than 300 participants every year.
From January to March, we develop projects connected to our local territory (local associations, municipalities and schools) taking part in local activities and awareness-raising actions (promotion of international mobility and volunteering opportunities).
From April to November, Citrus organises International Workcamps, where young people from different countries live and work together for approximately two weeks. We also organise Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges, focused on social, cultural and intercultural topics, and welcome French schools and social organisations to discover the spirit of international.

You will live with approximately five other long-term volunteers in a house located within the organisation's premises. The house includes bedrooms, a living room, Wi-Fi, a kitchen, bathroom and a large garden. You might have to share your room during your volunteering experience.
Living together is an important part of the project. Volunteers are expected to share responsibilities, respect each other and contribute to creating a positive and cooperative living environment.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
You will volunteer approximately 35 hours per week and will receive support from the Citrus team throughout your experience. Your activities will vary depending on the season and the projects taking place.
You will attend the two European Solidarity Corps training seminars organised by the French National Agency Erasmus+. You will also receive internal training from Citrus to develop skills in group facilitation, animation and non-formal education, especially in the context of International Workcamps and other projects.

No specific skills or previous experience are required. What matters most is motivation and a willingness to learn.
An interest in manual work and outdoor activities is welcome, but this project is also — and above all — about people. We are looking for someone who enjoys being around people, is curious about different cultures and is willing to communicate, interact and create connections with others. You should be interested in proposing activities, facilitating group moments and helping to create a welcoming, inclusive and positive atmosphere.
The project is open to young people aged 18 to 30 from European Union or eligible partner countries. A driving license is highly recommended.
If you are interested in intercultural exchange, collective life, group facilitation, and learning by doing, we would be happy to hear from you.
As a long-term volunteer, you will often be in contact with international participants and groups. You will help organize and schedule daily life, welcome newcomers, facilitate games and group activities, encourage cooperation and participation, and contribute to intercultural exchange.. There is therefore an important project coordination and social dimension to this volunteering experience. Manual and outdoor work, such as renovation, gardening or maintenance, can be part of these projects
Our projects are based on non-formal education and learning by doing. You do not need previous experience in manual work or animation, but motivation, adaptability, openness and a genuine willingness to learn and to work with and for people are essential.
