The Gregoria Apaza Women’s Promotion Centre (CPMGA) is a Bolivian feminist organization with 43 years of experience promoting women’s rights, empowerment, political participation, violence prevention, and the development of women’s leadership in urban and rural communities of El Alto and the Department of La Paz. This volunteer project aims to recover, organize, and highlight CPMGA’s achievements, methodologies, and accumulated learning, as well as the impact of its work on the lives of women involved in its programs. The volunteer will support the production of two key outputs: a publication documenting the organization’s main initiatives and experiences with community promoters, women entrepreneurs, young women, and women leaders, and an audiovisual documentary featuring testimonies and significant moments from institutional activities.
Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport
For safety reasons the accommodation will be located in a safe and central area of La Paz.Travel from these neighborhoods to CPMGA’s offices takes approximately one hour and can be made by public minibus or by cable car (teleférico). Volunteers may choose to eat at local restaurants or purchase groceries from nearby markets and supermarkets to prepare their own meals. In addition, the CPMGA office has a kitchen and dining area available for volunteers, providing a space to have meals and interact with staff from different departments of the organization.
Szkolenie w trakcie działania
- Guidance from the Advocacy Officer and the Socio-political Area Coordinator.
- Learning about the practical application of gender and feminist approaches in El Alto and nearby municipalities.
- Organisation of training sessions for women in the municipalities where projects are implemented.
- Application of training manuals and guides with women and young people on political advocacy.
- Exchange of knowledge, customs and experiences with women and young people from El Alto, Viacha, La Paz, Achocalla and rural municipalities in Oruro and Potosí.
Profil uczestnika
We are looking for a volunteer who embraces feminism as a philosophy and way of life, and who is committed to the values of justice, solidarity, and sisterhood. The volunteer should be motivated to support and empower women, particularly those who require guidance and assistance in violence prevention and response initiatives.
Requirements:
- Academic background in Communication, Social Sciences, Knowledge Management, or related fields.
- Knowledge of or specialization in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Human Rights, and/or Gender Studies.
- Basic graphic design skills.
- Experience in editing, proofreading, and content development.
- Experience in writing, document analysis, and the ability to develop historical and narrative accounts.
- Basic photography skills.
- Proficiency in video editing tools and software.
- Intermediate to advanced level of Spanish.
