URGENT: Youth Work & Creative Media Volunteer in Czechia

Středisko volného času Vratimov (affectionately known as "Domeček") is a youth and leisure-time center dedicated to non-formal education near Ostrava, Czech Republic. We are looking for 2 proactive, open-minded, and motivated volunteers to join our vibrant team for an unforgettable 8-month adventure starting around mid-October!

What will you do here?

• Leisure activities for youth: Assist with after-school clubs, support the youth, and bring your own ideas to life.
• Camp planning & operation: Become an integral part of the team during suburban and residential holiday camps.
• Promotion & Marketing: Create engaging content for our social media (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube), take photos, and shoot short video clips.
• Leisure activities for seniors: Get involved in intergenerational programs and creative workshops.
• Community events: Help organize big public events (e.g., traditional lantern parade) and run your own cultural presentations/discussions.
• Educational programs: Assist with morning project days for local kindergartens and primary schools

 

Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten

• Accommodation: Fully covered and provided for you in a peaceful, safe, and green environment in Vratimov, just 15 minutes away from the city center of Ostrava.
• Pocket money: The volunteer will receive a regular monthly allowance and pocket money based on the official conditions and rules of the ESC grant.
• Travel costs: A contribution to your travel expenses from your home country to the Czech Republic and back will be reimbursed according to the ESC distance calculator.
• Insurance: Comprehensive international health insurance is fully arranged and covered for the entire duration of your stay.

Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit

 

• On-arrival & Mid-term training: The volunteer will fully participate in the official training sessions organized by the Czech National Agency (DZS).
• Language support: Access to the Online Language Support (OLS) platform for learning the Czech language will be provided.
• Internal support: You will receive regular mentoring, onboarding, and hands-on guidance from our professional team members throughout all youth work and marketing activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Teilnehmerprofil

We are looking for a volunteer (aged 18-30) who is enthusiastic, full of energy, and has a positive attitude.

You are the perfect match if you are:

• Communicative & Social: You love meeting new people, sharing your culture, and you’re not afraid to chat, even if your English isn't perfect yet.
• Passionate about youth work: You genuinely enjoy spending time with kids and teenagers and want to be a positive role model.
• Proactive & Creative: You love bringing your own ideas into reality (games, art projects, workshops).
• A true team player: You are reliable, flexible, and ready to support the team during big events.

Note: No previous professional pedagogical experience is required! However, since you will work closely with children, providing a clean criminal record check from your home country is a mandatory legal requirement.
