Be brave and enjoy winter activities of the north! In this project two (2) volunteers will work together with local community in the small rural municipality of Lumijoki (2000 inhabitants). Volunteers will work together with locals to create activities and increase involvement. Volunteers will plan and implement seasonal events (e.g. winter experience, shrovetide, Valentine’s day). They will work at local library as well as participate in the activities of the local youth work: volunteers will work at youth house and arrange fun activities for kids and youngsters. Volunteers will have an opportunity to carry out own ideas.

During the interview we’ll discuss more about the project. The interviews take place on 24 November 2026.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Volunteers will live in their own one-room apartments. Volunteers will receive food money to prepare meals for themselves. The main work tasks take place within walking distance. If needed, other transportation will be provided. Bus connections to other cities locate within walking distance.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
Volunteers will participate in the on-arrival training. Task related support and mentoring will be provided.
Teilnehmerprofil
We would like to host active volunteers who are motivated to create new activities and work with local community, particularly with youth. Working hours will change according to tasks, so volunteers need to be flexible. As some project tasks take place outdoors, volunteers need to be prepared to work in winter conditions.
