Picture this: it's lunchtime in a school in Le Mans, and a group of kids is learning a game from your country or counting in your language. Later that week, you're with teenagers at the Youth Service, helping them build their own project. The City of Le Mans is looking for one more ESC volunteer to join its Childhood & Youth teams until July, alongside the volunteer already there since August. You won't be an extra pair of hands: you'll bring your culture, your language and your ideas to young people who rarely meet someone from elsewhere in Europe. The City has hosted ESC volunteers since 2021. Each year, kids discover that Europe isn't far away: it's someone they share lunch with. Why Le Mans? A lively student city with a medieval old town, famous for its 24-hour race, 1 hour from Paris by high-speed train.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Home: a fully equipped shared house in Le Mans with the other ESC volunteers of the project. They're already settled and ready to show you around! Getting around: a public transport pass covers all your trips in the city. Food: on school days, you eat lunch with your team. For everything else, you get a food allowance.
Fortbildung im Rahmen der Tätigkeit
You won't arrive alone: the volunteer group started in August and is already a nice international crew, ready to welcome you, show you their favourite spots and share their tips. The Maison de l'Europe will help you settle in, and you'll join the national on-arrival and mid-term ESC seminars to meet volunteers from all over France.

You might be our ideal volunteer if you’re enthusiastic, adaptable and genuinely enjoy spending time with children and young people. You’re curious, open to new experiences and ready to share your culture, your language and your passions — whether that’s music, sport, arts, science or something else entirely. Some French is a real plus to connect with the kids and the teams, but motivation matters most. An interest in how local public services work is a bonus!
