Join Our Team! Female Volunteer Wanted at Jugendakademie Walberberg (5–6 Months)

Jugendakademie Walberberg

Bornheim, Germany

Description

We are looking for a volunteer to join our team starting in December 2026 or January 2027.

Jugendakademie Walberberg is an independent youth training center near Cologne and Bonn, offering 100 beds and a youth-friendly environment with learning and leisure facilities, including a high ropes course and climbing wall. It focuses on personal development through social, political, and diversity education, hosting seminars, youth exchanges, and volunteer trainings.

You will join a supportive team working in international youth work and non-formal education. You will gain practical experience in organizing international youth exchanges, preparing activities, and assisting with project coordination and public relations. You will also take part in regular team meetings and receive continuous mentoring.

If you wish, your tasks may also include helping out in the outdoor areas of the Jugendakademie. This could involve gardening, maintaining green spaces and supporting biodiversity.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Participants will be provided with housing and meals as part of the volunteering programme:

This time, we're specifically looking for a female volunteer because we'll most likely be able to offer accommodation with a friend of the Jugendakademie in Bonn, who is only looking for female flatmates. Lunch is provided at the Jugendakademie during the week. For breakfast, dinner, and weekends, volunteers receive money to cover their own meals (self-catering). Volunteers are offered a monthly ticket for local and regional public transport in Germany, making daily commuting and travel easier.

Training during the activity

Participants take part in structured trainings during the activity, such as:

• On-Arrival Training

• Mid-Term Meeting

Participant profile

Young people aged 18–30 with at least basic German skills and English skills. Interest in (international) youth work and non-formal education is important. Computer skills are helpful. Daily commuting from Bonn (30–45 minutes by tram) should be possible.

We warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities or specific support needs.
